Center Amenities

Food Service

The center houses a food service program sponsored by CACFP. This is a state funded program which allows us to hire a full time cook who prepares cooked breakfast and lunch meals and daily snacks. We comply with the state food guidelines. This program also supports meals for infants including Good Start Formula with Iron, Beech Nut or Gerber cereals, fruits, and vegetables.

Outdoor Play and Swimming

The center houses two large play areas and a heated swimming pool. All children are outside daily, weather permitting. Individual swimming lessons are provided for children who are potty trained. Children who took swimming lessons and are potty trained will swim daily, weather permitting, June through August.

Curriculum and Developmental Assessments

The center utilizes the High Scope curriculum and aligns all instruction to the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards and components of Keystone Stars criteria. It is our goal to have all children prepared for entering Kindergarten and ultimately for life. Monthly calendars for each room are posted defining the learning standards to be addressed.

Assessment is ongoing. We ask all parents to complete the Ages and Stages Developmental Screening at the onset of programming. Our Pre-K Counts program utilizes Ages and Stages and the Brigance screener.

Parent Programs

The center offers extensive parent programs to assist families with support raising children in today’s ever changing and busy world. Programs are designed to assist parent with the many aspects of raising children. Programs include: Wellness Night, Financial Programming, Literacy Night, Fall Festival, Raising Responsible Children, Diversity, and Community Resource Night.

Health, Wellness, and Safety

The goal of the center is to ensure the health, wellness, and safety of all children and staff.

Parents are required to obtain a fob to enter the facility. Parents must sign their children in and out of the center daily. A defined list of individuals who can pick up a child must be on file. All custody agreements must also be on file.

The center does house cameras which are audio and video based. This is notification that the video system does archive audio and video components.

Wellness components are critical. Due to Covid 19, we ask all parents to come to the door wearing a mask and sanitize their hands and the child’s hands before coming in. Parents are not permitted in the center due to the current situation. We will have someone at the door who will greet you and escort your child to their classroom. All staff are required to wear a mask unless they are six feet or more from another person/child. Children above the age of two are encouraged to wear a mask.

All children must be properly immunized and a flu shot yearly is recommended. Documentation and annual physical reports must be on file.
